Career
Simon worked as a freelance traditional artist in the 1980s. He completed many private commissions for portraits, pet portraits and sold landscape paintings via his gallery representative at that time, Sally Mitchell fine arts.
With the emergence of computer graphics, and the evolving computer games industry he set about learning the skills required to create 2D & 3D digital art and has worked as a digital modeller and texture artist for over 30 years at leading videogame and film visual effects studios including Electronic Arts, Moving Picture Company & Paramount Animation.
Though his experience covers multiple subjects and genres including characters, props and vehicles he has often specialised in environments and is currently a Senior environment modeller at Supermassive Games
Simons automotive paintings are represented and marketed by Historic Car Art, a leader in the acquisition and supply of original automotive art and his work is regularly displayed in leading exhibitions and has been sold to collectors in the UK and internationally.
Often found in his Sussex studio creating his paintings or occasionally working on his classic 1980 Fiat X1/9.
Finally, and in complete contrast, Simon also cares for disabled wood pigeons in his home aviary.
